The painted area includes a depiction of Mt. Fuji and a torii (a Japanese arch traditionally placed at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine) containing the 3rd Marine Division emblem and associated text related to the soldier’s service, along with his name and serial number (“G. M. Steese – 1483970”). The bag is also stenciled with “U.S.M.C.” and the name and serial number in three separate instances. Includes named garrison cap with EGA. A wonderful, artistically painted sea bag and an exceedingly unique Marine Corps artifact.
